Edward Joseph Ladamus, 80, of Dallas, passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025, at the Meadows Nursing Center, Dallas.
He was born in Wilkes-Barre on Dec. 24, 1944, and was the son of the late George and Anna Hardish Ladamus.
Ed graduated from Lake-Lehman, Class of 1962, and then earned a bachelor's degree from Bloomsburg State College, Class of 1966; he eventually earn a master's degree in education as well. He worked as a fifth grade teacher and reading specialist at Lehman Jackson Elementary School and acted as the wrestling coach for Lake-Lehman Junior and Senior High, as well as LCCC. Following his retirement, Ed became involved with refereeing various wrestling events and was even invited to referee at the Olympics. Later in life, he became a groundskeeper at Huntsville Golf Club and Emanon Country Club. He was a member of Gate of Heaven Parish. Ed was an avid golfer, had great love of animals and volunteered at many animal rescues, including Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge. Ed had great love for his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, George Ladamus; sister, Mary Ann Lozier; several aunts and uncles; and numerous dogs.
Ed is survived by sister, Dolores "June" Newell; nieces, Debbie Katyl (Dave); nephews, Earl Lozier (Lisa), Russ Newell (Sherri), Michael Lozier, George Ladamus (Angela) and Tom Ladamus; brother-in-law, Earl Lozier; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ladamus; and several great-nieces and great-nephews and great-great nieces and great-great-nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas, with the Rev. Andrew S. Hvozdovic, officiating.
A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the Mass in the church.
Interment will be in St. Stephen's Cemetery, Lehman Township.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Blue Chip Farm Animal Refuge, 974 Lockville Road, Dallas, PA 18612, or Gate of Heaven Church, 40 Machell Ave., Dallas, PA 18612.
