Elizabeth Toney Obituary

Elizabeth Doris Toney, 72, of Park Avenue Towers, Wilkes-Barre, died Saturday at her home.
She was born May 27, 1936, in Wilkes-Barre, a daughter of the late Elmer and Edna Toney. She was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School.
She was preceded in death by a son, John Toney, and by a daughter, Debbie Toney. She was also preceded in death by her sisters Verna Pugh and Dorothy Strobel.
Surviving are son Samuel Toney, Duryea; daughters Donna Toney, Edwardsville and Sue Ann Toney, Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren Tiffany Brunson, Plymouth; David Toney, Wilkes-Barre; Justin Toney, Dupont; great-grandchildren Jaylon Brunson, Tianna Brunson and Sierra Toney, Plymouth; brother Elmer Lowe, Warrior Run; sister Louise Brant, Ashley; nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Maple Hill Cemetery, 68 East St. Mary’s Road, Hanover Township, with the Rev. J. Duane Gavitt officiating.
Friends are asked to gather at the Chapel in Maple Hill Cemetery on Wednesday from 12 noon until the time of the service.
Arrangements are by the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre.

Dear Sam and Sue Anne, I am sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. She was a great lady and always was funny when we were young. She always made sure that we were doing the right thing. May God's grace comfort your family in this trying time. Love you guys.
