Elizabeth Maxine (Betty) Weber, 92, of State College, passed away on Monday, Dec. 5, 2022, at Mount Nittany Medical Center.
Born Aug. 7, 1930, in Decatur, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Max Sherman and Emily Anderson Sherman. On June 13, 1954, she married Dean Weber who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen D. Jackson and her husband, Richard, of State College; her son, Mark D. Weber and his wife, Lesley, of N. Cape May, N.J.; five grandchildren: Matthew Weber, Benjamin Weber, Jacob Weber, Jessica Jackson and Daniel Jackson; four great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Michael, Evelyn and Lillian Weber. She was preceded in death by her three siblings: Doris Sobotka, Guy Sherman and Shirley Casner.
She was a graduate of Decatur High School. Although she had various jobs outside the home, Elizabeth dedicated her life to raising her children and taking care of her home and family. Elizabeth volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and was a very active member of the Plains United Methodist Church, the Mount Nittany United Methodist Church, the Women's Welcome Club, and the State College Senior Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed golfing, traveling, playing cards and board games, and collecting owls.
Burial will be in the Pine Hall Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
