Ellen Lacek Obituary
TOWANDA — Ellen T. Lacek, age 79, of Towanda, died on Feb. 20, 2021, from complications of COVID disease.
Born in Ashley, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Helen Spaar McCarry. She is predeceased by her sister, Patricia McCarry Wilkie Goldring.
She was raised on Timpson Street and attended Saint Leo's Church and graduated from Saint Leo's School. She married James Lacek of Lee Park in 1963. Jim and Ellen started their married life in Millville from 1963 to 1970 and then moved to Towanda, where they raised five children.
Ellen is survived by her husband, James Lacek, daughters, Kathleen (Roy) Hope, Christine (Jody) Garris; sons, Daniel Lacek, Michael (Marco) Lacek, Jimmy Lacek; and grandchildren, Erika (Eric) Severson, Kyleen Garris, Joe Garris and Paige Garris; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Severson and Sawyer Severson and many extended family and close friends and neighbors.
A memorial service will be held at a future date to be announced.

My wife and I always enjoyed our short visits with Ellen whenever we popped into the liquor store in Wyalusing. We loved her stories about Jim and their travels together.
To the Lacek family I pray that God comfort you and rejoice in the wonderful memories that you have been given.
