PORT ORANGE, Fla. — Emma Zawila, 89, of Port Orange, passed away peacefully with her daughter, Denise Zawila, by her side on Friday, July 10, 2015, at her residence.
Emma was born on April 17, 1926, in Wyoming to the late John and Amelia Falconi. She devoted her life to taking care of her husband and her family. She was a wonderful woman who loved to play tennis, golf, cook and sew.
She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, the Ladies Lions Club, the Bridge Club in Pelican Bay, Florida, Fox Hill Country Club, Tennis Club and she was a volunteer at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
She is survived by her two daughters, Denise Zawila, Port Orange, and Jeannine Black, Tampa, Florida; and two grandchildren, Allison and Teddy Black.
Emma was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Ted Zawila, who passed away on July 15, 2008.
A funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 1 in Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, 4675 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Port Orange.
Donations may be made in her memory to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32127, or to a charity of one's choice.
