Genevieve Sonya Rubino, 92, of Pittston, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, Nov. 20, 2025.
The second daughter of the late Anna Dankulics and Peter Parent, she was born Aug. 12, 1933, in Wilkes-Barre.
Genevieve was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Anthony Naples and Floyd Rubino, and her beloved dog, Julio.
She always strove to better herself through hard work and education. She graduated from Coughlin High School and the Bradford Beauty Academy with a cosmetology degree. She then worked for many years as a beautician, but was fondly known as "Gennie the Card Reader" and was a certified Reiki practitioner.
She will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, including children Sheryl Scrobola and husband Joe, Anthony Naples and wife Mary, and Cory Rubino and wife Theresa; and grandchildren, Tessa Scrobola, Joseph Scrobola, Ian Scrobola, Anthony Naples, Tandi Naples, and Gabriela Rubino; and great-grandchildren, Austin Naples and Maya Naples.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 25, in St. Joseph Morello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church the morning of the services. A private interment will follow the service.
On behalf of the family, thank you to the entire staff at Gino J. Merli Veterans Center for their care, kindness, and compassion shown to Genevieve.
