PRINGLE — George Thomas Smith, 69, of Pringle, passed away Sunday Nov. 24, 2024 at Lakewood Rehab and Healthcare Center, Nanticoke.
Born March 16, 1955 in Kingston, son of the late David and Mildred Rittenhouse Smith. He was a 1973 graduate of West Side Voc-tech, Pringle. Before retiring, George worked as a service advisor at Volvo - M & K Truck Centers, formally Wilkes-Barre Trucking, Plains.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Smith Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, the former Kimberle Shive; daughters, Susan Rood and husband Brian, Forty Fort; Sherin Vincent and husband Jason Edwardsville; son, John Smith and wife Andrea Nanticoke; sisters Barbara Davis, New York and Cathy Jones, Luzerne; grandchildren Ashley and Stephen Rood, Forty Fort; Kaitlyn Wolfe, South Carolina and Kasey Snyder, Edwardsville.
A private funeral service was held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements were made by the Stegura Funeral Home Inc., Nanticoke. Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Park, Wyoming.
