Gerald "Jerry" J. Wisnewski, 86, of Bear, Del., formerly of Kingston, passed away Friday, Nov. 7, 2025.
Jerry was born in Kingston, son of the late Blanche (Nestor) and Leo Wisnewski. Early in his employment, Jerry enjoyed working at American Auto and St. Joe Paper. Jerry then relocated to Delaware to work on the assembly line at General Motors until his retirement. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed traveling with his wife Barbara, going to Tennessee and Florida, and spending time at the beach. Jerry was a big Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan and enjoyed watching the games. He was a devoted husband who lovingly cared for Barbara throughout her illness, tending to her needs with unwavering patience, compassion, and grace. Married for 56 years, Jerry and Barbara built a life rooted in love, loyalty, and quiet strength, leaving a legacy of commitment that continues to inspire everyone who knew them.
In addition to his parents, Jerry was also predeceased by his loving wife, Barbara (Totino) Wisnewski, in March; brothers, Tony, Leon, and Patrick Wisnewski; and sister, Bernadine Wisnewski.
Jerry is survived by his sister-in-law, Marilynn (Totino) Allabaugh and husband, John; brother-in-law, Donald Totino and wife, Dorothy; and sister-in-law Kathy Carlin. Jerry also had several nieces, nephews, and close family friends, all of whom he loved. The family would like to thank niece and caregiver, Gina Totino, who took care of Jerry over the last year. They would also like to thank Sandy and Jay, special neighbors who would assist Jerry during times of need.
Per Jerry's request, a private visitation and service was held for the immediate family. Interment followed at St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
