PITTSTON — Helen Breya Vecerkauskas, 99, of Pittston, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, with her daughter, Paulette Schlomer, her son-in-law, Cody Schlomer, and her granddaughter, Mechelle Schlomer Barton, by her side.
Helen was born on Dec. 4, 1921, in Pittston. She was married to the late Paul Vecerkauskas on Sept. 15, 1946.
In addition to her husband, Paul, Helen was preceded in death by her daughters, Marianne Vecerkauskas and Patricia Vecerkauskas; her son, Butch Vecerkauskas; her daughter-in-law, Debbie Vecerkauskas; and her two granddaughters, Kimberlea Schlomer and Dana Schlomer.
Helen is survived by her sons, Michael Vecerkauskas and his wife, Connie; and John Vecerkauskas; her daughter, Paulette Schlomer and her husband, Cody; five grandchildren, Michael Vecerkauskas, Mechelle Schlomer, Michele Vecerkauskas Evans, Paul J.Vecerkauskas, and David Vecerkauskas; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, July 23, 2021, in St. John the Evangelist Church, 35 William St., Pittston. Interment will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Pittston.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at the Bednarski Funeral Home, 168 Wyoming Ave., Wyoming.
Those attending the funeral Mass are asked to go directly to the church on Friday morning.
