Jan Kubicki Obituary
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret Kubicki. He was a graduate of GAR Memorial High School, Wilkes University and Boston University. He was employed for several years at Marple Newtown High School, where he won state championships for his direction of the Drama Club productions.
Jan was self-employed at Truefire A Photography Business.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jay F. Kubicki.
He is survived by a sister, Joyce, Wilkes-Barre; sister-in-law, Gladys, Lancaster; nephews and wives, Kevin and Leslie, Lancaster; Jay and Kelly, York; Dr. Jody and Kristin, Berwick; his loving great-nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn, Kameron, Kade, Lancaster; Danielle and Joseph Ireley, York.
A private family memorial was held.

Jan was a talented, gifted, student. I am so glad that I have his book "Breaker Boys", with his signature, to remember him by. We attended grade school through high school. My father had his Dad photograph several family events, he admired Frank so much. It can surprise one when a friend through high school passes early in life- but the big surprise is what that connection means as we age! Bravo Jan- job well done!
I will forever miss you my teacher, my mentor, my friend mostly. Who am I going to make fun of the Oscars with now??

Am deeply saddened by the passing of Jan, our talented and former classmate at Dodson Elementary School and G.A.R. Memorial High School. I can still picture him walking the halls at G.A.R. with a stack of books under his arm going from class to class .Additionally my Dad wa a huge fan of Jans Dad as he always called upon him for our special family occasion pictures. Jan was gifted and it is indeed a loss as we would be enjoying a good time with him at our 50th reunion this fall.
Oh for that wonderful Wilkes-Barre connection. They were such special times and he will be remembered with affection.
