Janice Kasper Obituary
MINERS MILL — Janice Bonick Kasper, "Lil Jan Jan," 63, of Miners Mills, passed away peacefully Friday, April 22, 2016, at home. Janice was born Oct. 31, 1952, in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late John Bonick and Catherine (Rowles) Bonick.
Janice enjoyed a long career as a shift manager at McDonald's, Route 309 and Route 315, until her retirement early this year.
Janice was a wonderful wife and mother to her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, decorating her home, shopping and cooking for her entire family. Janice enjoyed viewing social media and crossword puzzles. She was well loved and had the ability to light up any room with her generosity and kindness.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Catherine "Sandy" Greco, Hazleton; brothers, Thomas Schwartz Sr., Ashley, Frank Schwartz, Ashley; and her beloved dog, Rocky.
She will be deeply missed by her husband, Leonard Kasper, with whom she just celebrated 44 years of marriage on Nov. 6; her children, Leonard Kasper Jr., Katie Kasper, Ashley Kasper and boyfriend Chris Walsh, Jonathan Kasper and girlfriend Katie Trinian, and Lori Shovlin and husband Scott Shovlin; grandchildren, Mahdisty Floyd and Addison Shovlin. Janice is also survived by her sister and best friend, Beverly Winter and husband Edward Winter; twin brother, Joseph Bonick and wife Susan Bonick, Plains Township; brothers, Paul Bonick and John Bonick, Wilkes-Barre Township, David Schwartz and wife Theresa Schwartz, Wilkes-Barre Township, Charles Schwartz and wife Glenda Schwartz, Oakland, California; and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at George A. Strish Inc., 105 N. Main St., Ashley. Interment will be privately held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janice's name may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.

I am so very sorry to hear of Janice passing.I just now found out about it on May 3rd from my brother in-law. I am friends with her sister Beverly.I remember Janice & how nice she always was to me from the day I met her.All her children I met. I know how a close family they are & how Janice always was there for her children a good mother that's for sure..She was a wonderful wife & mother & hard worker.RIP Janice, you will never be forgotten.My heart is sad to hear this news today of her passing. God Bless her husband & Children at this time. I pray the good lord helps them all through this time of sorrow..

I am so very sorry to hear of Jan's passing. I can still hear her voice every time we saw each asking how we were.I knew her before Ashley was born, till her grandchildren were born, and she never changed.She lived for her children,loved with her heart,and would do anything for a friend. Your mom will always be in your hearts, Len,Lori,Katie,John and Ashley. I'm so sorry Len. Jan will always be in my heart. I'm a better person for knowing her. Love you all. God Bless.
