John Mayernick Obituary
He was born in Kingston, a son of the late John and Julia Shugar Mayernick. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army in the European Theatre of War.
John was a former councilman in Edwardsville and was a life member of the Columbia Hose Co., 3, Edwardsville. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Anthracite Post, 283, Kingston. He was employed as a truck driver by Chemical Lehman, Wilkes-Barre. Mr. Mayernick was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Kingston.
He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Agnes Rynick; and son, John III.
Surviving are daughters, Carol Hannis, Frankfort Township, N.J. and Debra Zlotek, Larksville; sons, Joseph, Dallas and David, Staatsburg, N.Y., nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; sister, Ann Zabaly, Tucson, Ariz.
Private funeral services will be held on Monday. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Byzantine Cemetery, Edwardsville. Friends may call on Sunday from 2 to 5 at the Kopicki Funeral Home, 263 Zerbey Avenue, Kingston.
