John J. Sidorowicz Jr., 69, passed away Nov. 15, 2025.
Born in Wyoming, he was the son of the late John Sidorowicz and his surviving mother, Rose (Blandina) Sidorowicz. He was a graduate of Wyoming Area High School, Class of 1974, and later earned his degree from Penn State University. He went on to work in his dream career as a civil engineer and remained a proud Penn State football fan throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Elba Sidorowicz; daughters, Melanie McKnight and Renee Higgins; stepsons, Gabriel Gonzalez, David Gonzalez, and Andre Gonzalez; and his sister, Deborah. He was known as "Uncle Johnny" to his nieces and nephew and as "Popi" to his granddaughter, Mila, and his grandsons, Darrell and Adam.
He and Elba retired to Mérida, Mexico, where they enjoyed a quieter life and the opportunity to travel together. He enjoyed cooking, hiking, and exploring new places. He had a lifelong appreciation for Broadway and classical music and especially loved reading.
In keeping with his wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your nearest ASPCA, in honor of his mother's love of animal rescue.

My closest cousin as kids - we walked and rode bikes all over Wyoming and West Wyoming- played ball and Army and generally horsed around on all my family visits to the Valley. We hardly ever saw each other for many years but never lost touch. It´s heartbreaking and I wish Elba and the kids and Debbie and Aunt Rosie my deepest sympathy and much love.
