John Stawasz Obituary
PLAINS TWP. — John "Jack" David Stawasz, 67, of Plains Township, went home to the Lord on Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2023, following a long battle with chronic disease.
Born in Nanticoke on Sept. 15, 1955, he was the son of the late John P. and Bernadine (Petro) Stawasz. He was a graduate of Greater Nanticoke High School, class of 1973, and continued his education at West Side AVTS for electrical, class of 1976. Jack retired as an electrician with I.B.E.W., Local 163 in 2020, with 20 years of service.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his loving wife, the former Elizabeth "Beth" Gobla, on Sept. 30, 2009.
He is survived by his son, Craig Stawasz, Plains Township; daughter, Nicole Gregori and her husband Matthew, Sturges, Pa.; granddaughter, Ava Gregori, age 5; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private and a memorial service will be held at a later date, at the convenience of the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Corcoran Funeral Home, Inc., 20 South Main St., Plains Township.
