GLEN LYON — John James Vanderhoff, Jr., of Glen Lyon, passed away unexpectedly in a motor vehicle accident on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022.
Born July 13, 1948, John was the son of the late John James Vanderhoff Sr. and Jane (Puterbaugh) Vanderhoff.
John was a devoted tractor trailer driver for Allan Industries, Wilkes-Barre, for over 40 years. To him, it wasn't a job, it was his passion.
John was a member of the Amvets Post 59, Hanover Township.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father; his brother, Forester; his mother- and father-in-law; his brother-in-law, Walter Hish; his best friend, Rich Zielecki; and his dog, Keisha.
Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years, Michaelene (Kociban) Vanderhoff; son, Michael Vanderhoff; daughter, Nicole Borick and husband, John; sister-in-law, Rozanne Hish; grandchildren: Skylar, Coby, Samara, Tyler, Kaden, Chase, Noah and Jade Vanderhoff; three great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters; nieces; nephews; and other family and friends that will miss him very much.
A celebration of life will be held on Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, at the Stanley S. Stegura Funeral Home, Inc., 614 S. Hanover St., Nanticoke. Family and friends may call from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home. John will be laid to rest in St. Michael's Cemetery, Glen Lyon.
