Joseph Mikulka Obituary

Joseph Stephen John Mikulka, of Meshoppen, died Wednesday at his home.
He was born in Swoyersville on September 15, 1940, son of the late Joseph Mikulka and Clara Zenda Mikulka Root.
He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School in Swoyersville and was a graduate of Swoyersville High School, Class of 1958. He retired from the Proctor and Gamble plant in Mehoopany in 1988 after 23 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he especially enjoyed the time that he spent fishing with his grandchildren. Joe enjoyed going to auctions and fighting for the Rights of the Disabled.
Surviving is his wife, Lucille Lamorexux Mikulka; son, Joseph of Jackson, Mich.; daughters, Lynn Oliver of Tunkhannock, Jacqueline Kiederling of Nanticoke, Kristine Warriner of Montrose; brothers, Dave Mikulka of Meshoppen, Donald Root of Tunkhannock; sister, Donna Brown of Courtdale; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memoria l service will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home Inc., 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with Mr. Joseph Poklemba, Chaplain of Asera Care Hospice, Clarks Summit. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the senders local SPCA or to the American Cancer Society.
