Kathleen Webb, 83, of Mountain Top, entered into the heavenly kingdom surrounded by her family after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born Nov. 6, 1942, in St. Clair, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Susan Jones, St. Clair.
She was a graduate of Nativity B.V.M. High School, Pottsville. While still in high school, "Kate" worked in the notions department at Woolworth's in Pottsville and also babysat for numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. As a young woman, she worked at St. Clair Garment and Judy Kent, Schuylkill County. Later, she married the love of her life and raised a family in Mountain Top. A member of St. Jude Church, she was devoted to God and offered prayers for anyone in need.
Kathleen supported and encouraged her three children throughout their educational careers. She was a volunteer for the St. Jude School PTA and served as a CCD teacher while also contributing to bake sales and attending school functions at her kids' many activities, making lifelong friends in the process. In addition, she was a diocesan-certified instructor in Natural Family Planning and a Pre-Cana presenter.
A master of the art of conversation, Kathleen showed kindness to everyone she met. Whatever the occasion, she enjoyed sending cards and letters to friends and family, even in her last days. She loved the holidays and decorated her home in festive displays no matter what time of the year it was.
At weddings, she could be seen dancing like no one was watching whenever her favorite songs were played, especially "Old Time Rock 'n Roll" by Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band and "The Twist" by Chubby Checker.
Kathleen always had a gift for you, whether it was a little treat from her many shopping experiences, or simply the gift of her smile, or a prayer. Spreading happiness and joy to everyone she met was her priority.
More than anything, she loved her three grandchildren, Sam and Nicholas Webb of Mountain Top and Joseph Romanosky of Throop.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Bettylou Swartchick of Pottsville and Nancy Olson of St. Clair, and a brother, Donald Jones of Pottsville.
In addition to her grandchildren, she is survived her loving husband of 60 years, Raymond Webb; son, David, Mountain Top; son, Michael, and his wife Becky Savitski Webb, Mountain Top; daughter, Ann Romanosky, Ph.D., and her husband, Michael, Throop; a brother, Charles Jones, Camp Hill; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathleen's family would like to thank everyone who helped care for her with compassion and dedication all throughout her illness, especially Dr. Marie Adajar, Dr. James Martino, Stephanie, and all of the medical professionals and support staff at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital, especially Aliyah Becker, LPN.
A Mass of Christian Burial is at 11 a.m. Monday in St. Jude Parish, with Rev. William Asinari officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday in the church narthex before the Mass.

"Thelma and Louise" is what we called them. Kathleen and mom had so much fun together. They shopped, ate, and enjoyed talking to strangers and making new friends. Their trips together were always adventures since Mom's car was unreliable. But that never stopped them! Kathleen was always quick with a joke and one of the funniest people I know. May she rest in peace now with my mom until the return of our Savior. Amen.
