LAUREN RUN — Kathryn Rose Mortimer, 74, of Laurel Run, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Born in Pittsburg, she as the daughter of the late Francis and Rose Rubino Palumbo and a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School.
She was employed as a Fiscal Tech. at the Luzerne County Mental Health and Developmental Services in Wilkes-Barre.
Kathryn was an Avid Golfer and was a member and Treasurer of the Four Seasons Monday and Wednesday Women's Golf League. She also enjoyed planting flowers and plants and had a love of orchids. Kathryn was a season ticket holder and loved the Penguins Hockey team and also the Pittsburg Steelers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John "Marty" Mortimer Sr., in 2009.
Kathryn is survived by her children, John and his wife, Joanne, of Pittston, Joel and his wife, Lisa, of Bear Creek, Dawn LaBar, of Wilkes-Barre, brother Frank Palumbo and his wife Terri, of Pittsburg, sister Jo Marie and her husband George "Whitey" Sorick of Irwin, two granddaughters, Jordan and Alexandria Mortimer, of Pittston, and several nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the Howell-Lussi Funeral Home Inc., located at 509 Wyoming Ave. in West Pittston. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. Online condolences can be left at our website at Howelllussi.com.
