Kenneth Weaver Obituary

November 1, 2011

Kenneth C. Weaver, 70, of Shickshinny, died Tuesday afternoon, November 1, 2011, in the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. Born October 10, 1941 in Berwick, he was a son of the late Albert and Thelma (Berstch) Weaver. Kenneth was the husband to Judy A. (Frantz) Weaver, whom he married September 25, 1965. They had just celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary. Over the years he had worked for various companies in the area, but he was best known as a self-employed plumber and carpenter. Ken loved to work, many considered him a workaholic. He was forever busy, working around his home or helping his neighbors and friends. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, trapping and fishing. Ken was a member of the "Valley Gang Hunting Club" of Shickshinny, and was a social member of the Shickshinny American Legion, Post No. 495. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mariam, Jenny, Sarah, Carolyn and Harry. In addition to his wife, Judy, he is survived by his daughter, Annette Craig and her husband, Tim, Shickshinny; brothers, Raymond Weaver, Millville, Richard Weaver, Florida; and aunt, Ella Weaver, Berwick. The Weaver Family will visit with friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning, in the Bethany United Methodist Church, Summerhill Ave. & Pine St., Berwick. His memorial service will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the church. The Rev. Dwaine Krebs will officiate. Interment will be private and held at the family's convenience. The Weaver Family will provide flowers for the service. Memorial donations may be made to a charitable organization of the donor's choice. The McMichael & Rairigh Funeral Home Inc., Berwick, is assisting with the service arrangements.

I know I will miss Kenny, He would come help us with anything, I miss seeing him and waving to him going up and down the road in the valley. I remember him making sure my Duck Bert was safe at home when he saw him in the road. He always made sure we didn't go with out water when there was a problem with our well. I feel like Kenny was not just a good friend and Neighbor but more like a family member to me and my Husband. I sure do miss him.
