TUNKHANNOCK — Lambert "Dutchie" Shalata, of Tunkhannock, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at the Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City. With his family by his side, he left to be with the Lord.
Born in Meshoppen on June 9, 1954, a son of Janet Traver Shalata, of Monroe Township, and the late Joseph T. Shalata.
He was employed by Meshoppen Stone Inc.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love of the outdoors and what it offered was something he shared with many. He was a proud and loving grandfather. He was a loving father who shared all he knew. Lake Carey was where he loved to be and knew so well.
Surviving is his son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Lindsay Shalata, Meshoppen; grandchildren, Kierney and Brant Shalata; sisters, JoAnn Williams, Monroe Township, and Nancy and her husband, Bradley Rosencrans, Sweet Valley.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, with the Rev. Lynn Mokwa. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

so sad to see Dutchies picture in this way. He was fun guy, never had a bad word to say about anyone. Always wanted to know if "the bear" had been at our house yet, just things I will miss talking to him about at "Beagles" for breakfast. It gives me great comfort to know we will see him again in God's glory.
