Maureen Yankovich, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 11, 2025, at her home. She was born Oct. 10, 1938, and was the daughter of the late James and Julia Kelly.
Maureen was employed at the Juvenile Detention Center in Wilkes-Barre for many years. Her love for her family was unwavering and anyone that knew her loved her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew Yankovich; brothers, Jim Kelly, John Kelly; and sister, Carol Evans.
She will be sadly missed by her daughter, Pat Shaffer, and her husband, Fred; son, Andrew Yankovich, and his wife, Wanda; son, James Yankovich, and his wife, Melissa; daughter, Janice Blose, and her husband, Todd; sister, Kathy Brandon, and her husband, Bob; and 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday from Maher-Collins Funeral Home, 360 N. Maple Ave., Kingston. Interment will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Pringle. Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
