EXETER — Louis J. Falzone, 87, a resident of Highland Manor, Exeter, died Friday, May 11, 2018, following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Falzone was born in Pittston, son of the late Riggio and Angeline Lombardo Falzone, and attended Pittston High School. He had been a deli manager with Giant Markets at Wilkes-Barre, Dunmore and Scranton for 21 years, retiring in 1992.
He was an active member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre, and had been a member of the choir for many years, the Holy Cross Society, and was a former member of St. James Episcopal Church, Pittston. He was also a member of Valley Lodge, F&AM, West Pittston; Caldwell Consistency, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Bloomsburg; and Irem Temple, Ancient Arabic Order, Nobles of the Mystic Shrine, Dallas. He was also a member of Chanters Unit of the Temple. He was preceded in death by brothers Frank Falzone, Joseph Falzone, Thomas Falzone, Salvatore (Sam) Falzone, Mrs. Pauline Simoncini and John Falzone.
Surviving are his wife, the former Margaret H. Dankos; daughter Margaret (Maggi) Rubino and her husband, Floyd, of Harding; and son Riagio and his wife, Karen, of Dickson City; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass will be held 9 a.m. Friday, May 18, 2018, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, 375 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Family and friends are asked to go directly to the church Friday. Family will receive friends and family prior to the service. Burial will follow the Mass at Maple Hills Columbariums, Hanover Township. The family requests that flowers be omitted and that memorial gifts in Mr. Falzone's name be made to Holy Cross Society of the Church, Holy Cross Church or to the charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are by the H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home Inc., Wilkes-Barre.
