Louise Christopher, 99, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, Nov. 3, 2025, at the Meadows Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Dallas.
Born Feb. 13, 1926, in Wilkes-Barre Township, Louise was the youngest and last surviving child of 11 siblings, to the late John and Victoria (Sudo) Mislivets.
Louise attended Wilkes-Barre Township High School and was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Immaculate Conception, Wilkes-Barre, until its closure and merger with St. Nicholas Church.
Louise loved get-togethers for holidays and any occasion that involved family and friends.
She touched the lives of anyone who had the honor of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bernard Christopher, on July 1, 2006; brothers, John, Stanley, Joseph, David, Chester, True, and Frank Mislivets; and sisters, Josephine Zalewski, Nellie Perch, and Eleanor Hickey.
Surviving are her daughters, Georgia Turinski, and her husband, Bob, Bear Creek Township, and Marion Merithew and her husband, Dave, Dallas; sons, Joseph Christopher and Robert Christopher, both of Forty Fort; grandchildren, Tammy Evans and her husband, Tom; Eric Turinski; Michelle Christopher; Brian Christopher; Jennifer Balon and her husband, Matt; Katie Gorman and her husband, Mike; Leah Christopher; and Maria Christopher; great-grandchildren, Libby and Jackson Edwards, Abigail Balon, Landon Burk, Nolan Christopher, and Eric Turinski; and several nieces and nephews.
Louise's family would like to thank Dr. Essam Almeky and the nurses and staff at The Meadows for the wonderful care given to Louise. Also, a special thanks to Louise's many friends at B'nai B'rith Senior Apartments for the love and friendship, … until we meet again.
Per Louise's wishes, there will be no funeral services or visitation. Arrangements are entrusted to Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township.
Memorial donations may be made to the Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank, 185 Research Drive, Pittston, PA 18640.
