Margo Knapp Obituary
WILKES-BARRE — Margo L. (Hess) Knapp (formerly Margo L. Gitomer), 86, of West Wareham, Mass., died July 30, 2022 at Tobey Hospital. She was the wife of William T. Knapp and the daughter of the late Louis Hess and Anna (Anstendig) Hess.
She was born in Manhattan, N.Y. and lived in Wilkes-Barre, Pa. and then in Framingham, Mass. before moving to West Wareham in 1988. She graduated from High School in New York City and attended Wilkes College in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.
While in Wilkes-Barre, Margo worked for many years at Zimmerman's Fashions, the family business. Mrs. Knapp enjoyed working as a Reader for the N.E. Newsclip Agency in Framingham and Fall River for several years before retiring.
She enjoyed needlepoint, going to the movies and loved cats. Her passion was traveling to Stowe, Vermont several times a year to enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Survivors include her husband, William T. Knapp, a daughter Janice Lynn of Baltimore; a son Stuart Gitomer and his wife Marie of Nanticoke, Pa.; a grandson Jonathon Gitomer; a great granddaughter Jocelyn Gitomer. Margo was preceded in death by her sister Sonya Dorman and her son Leslie Gitomer.
Services will be private.
