Mary Brenner Obituary
Born September 10, 1922, in Kingston, Pa., she was a daughter of the late James Corbett and Ruth Elston Corbett. Mary Hilda attended St. Ann’s Academy in Kingston and was a graduate of Kingston High School. On November 13, 1944, she married Robert Brenner at the rectory of Sacred Heart Parish in Luzerne, Pa. Mr. and Mrs. Brenner resided in Kingston, Pa., and Hingham, Mass., before moving to Towanda to make their home in 1962.
Mary Hilda was employed as a waitress for Lafy’s Restaurant in Towanda and the Towanda Motel for many years. She loved spending time with her family and enjoyed music, playing cards and bingo.
She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Towanda, Pa.
Surviving are her children, Robert Brenner and his wife, Beverly Brenner; Donald Brenner; Mary Susan Brenner Christian and her husband, Joel Christian, all of Towanda; grandchildren Kimberly Brenner Benjamin; Cinnamon, Rachel, Marybeth, Joel Robert, Daniel and Kathryn Christian; great-grandchildren Chelsea Brenner and Richard Benjamin; sisters Ruth Dugan and Margaret Corbett, both of Kingston, Pa.; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, from 7 to 9, at the Maryott-Bowen Funeral Home, 217 York Ave., Towanda, Pa.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, September 26, 2008, at 10 a.m. at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Third St., Towanda, Pa.
Interment will follow in SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, North Towanda Township, Pa.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be directed to St. Agnes School, 102 Third St., Towanda, PA 18848 in Mary Hilda’s memory.

Bobby, Donny and Sue,
They are all gone... It doesn't seem possible. We loved your mom and dad. We (the 3 sisters) would visit Hilda when we went to Towanda. She would be so excited to see us. I think she remembered the long red hair! I'm glad we were able to make her happy just one last time. You are in our prayers. Sending this with much love to all of you.
