Mary Eileen Greene, 67, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Nov. 30, 2025.
Born in Pittston on Aug. 13, 1958, Eileen was the daughter of the late Mary (Dowd) Gavigan and the late Raymond Gavigan. Eileen graduated from St. John the Evangelist High School (1976) and was an honors graduate of Geisinger School of Nursing, Plains Township (1982).
Eileen is survived by her partner, Gary Tedder, of Soddy Daisy, Tenn., and her children, Christopher Yurek and his wife, Lucille, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Leslie Greene Butler and her husband, Chris, of Tallahassee, Fla.; and Jude Tedder and her partner, Hudson Widrig, of Knoxville, Tenn. She was blessed with grandchildren, Haley, Leah, Celia, Cori, Morgan, and Raymond. Eileen is also survived by brothers, Joseph Gavigan, of Cedar Hill, Texas, and William Gavigan and his wife, Grace, of Laflin; sisters, Laurie Bosco and her husband, Paul, of West Pittston; Anne Smith, of Mesa, Ariz.; Jane Gavigan-Denion, of West Wyoming; and Mary Long and her husband, William, of Wayne; sister-in-law, Patty Gavigan, of West Pittston; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents, Eileen was preceded in death by brothers, Owen "OJ" Gavigan and Gerard "Jerry" Gavigan, and brother-in-law, TJ Smith.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank family friend Brooklin Hodges for her loving support and compassionate care. A private service to celebrate Eileen's life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
