Mary Kachinko Obituary

LARKSVILLE — It is with great sadness that Mary Ann Kachinko, 91, of Larksville, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed into eternal rest, surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, Sept. 22, 2024, at her home.

Born Aug. 26, 1933, in Port Griffith, she was the daughter of the late John Blazosek and Mary Yenchick Blazosek. Mary Ann was a graduate of Jenkins Township High School and was an active member of Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Plymouth. She was a member of the women's society of the parish, and had been extremely active with many church functions over the years, including the annual Parish bazaars.

Mary Ann was the former secretary of the family business, Kachinko Paving. She served as the voice of the company, often the first person a customer spoke with when they called in.

Mary Ann loved spending time with her family and she enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's sporting events and activities. Her favorite teams were the Penn State Nittany Lions and the Philadelphia Eagles. Mary Ann loved to cheer on the King's College volleyball team, coached by her son, Bernie, and was their #1 fan.

She was an avid reader and attended many fairs throughout the area where she showcased her many talents with ceramics and crafts.

Mary Ann was preceded in death, in addition to her parents, by her husband, Bernard Kachinko Sr., who passed away on May 21, 2000; and sisters: Theresa Mantione, Dolores Benkoski, Rita Mae Kelly and Helen Rundle.

Surviving are her loving children: Carol Naperski and her husband, Ed, of Larksville; Donna Warren and her husband, Nelson, of Kingsley; Bernie Kachinko Jr. and his wife, Marina, of Hanover Township; and Robbie Kachinko and his wife, Kathy, of Larksville; grandchildren: Edward Naperski and his wife, Shelby; Jeff Naperski and his wife, Amanda; and Madison, Robbie and Lukas Kachinko; and great-grandchildren: Bryn, Callie, Owen and Reese Naperski.

Visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. Friday from S. J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, 530 West Main St., Plymouth, followed by a divine liturgy at noon in Ss. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Plymouth. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Family and friends may call on Thursday evening from 4 to 8 p.m at S. J. Grontkowski Funeral Home, Plymouth.

Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to Ss. Peter and Paul UC Church, 20 Nottingham St., PO Box 60, Plymouth, PA 18651; or Allied Services Hospice, 100 Abington Executive Park, Clarks Summit, PA 18411.

Mary Ann's family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Allied Hospice, the Visiting Angels, and John Heinz for their extraordinary care and compassion during the past several months.

I knew her Daughter Donna quite well and I have worked with her for many years. I grew up in Larksville and lived on East First Street for 23 years in my earlier youth! I loved the town and all of its people. I went to Larksville High School with a person named Paul Kachinko. I am not sure if they are related. May you Rest in Peace, Mary. You did very well in raising your family. I will keep you in my Prayers always and May God Sincerely Bless you and your family and grant you Peace and Rest for all Eternity. Amen!
