Michael J. Shedlock

Michael J. Shedlock, 81, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Saturday, June 26, 2021, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Mike was born in Plains, a son of the late William R. and Helen Shedlock. He was a graduate of Penn State University and was employed by Commonwealth Telephone as an Electrical Engineer.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1957-1960.

Mike loved hunting and fishing and spending his time at his cabin in Bradford County. He also enjoyed model airplanes and working on his cars.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marirose Shedlock Connor; brother, William Shedlock; brother-in-law, Leo McGrady.

Surviving are his wife, Barbara Kordoski Hornlein Shedlock; step-son, John W. Hornlein and his wife, Maureen, Dallas; grandchildren, Lyndsey and Sydney Hornlein; sister, Johanna Shedlock McGrady; nephews, James, Michael, Robert, and John Shedlock; nieces, Karen Rogalski and Sharon Westawski.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021, at 9:30 a.m. from the Nat & Gawlas Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 a.m. in St. Nicholas Church, 226 S. Washington St., Wilkes-Barre. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Friends may call on Tuesday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
