Nicholas Vino Obituary

Nicholas Vino Jr., 69, of Pittston, who was known for his big heart and loving kindness, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre on Nov. 8, 1956, to Nicholas Vino Sr. and Peggy Vino, hardworking people who loved him very much. Early on, he was passionate about working, racing cars, truck driving, and eating at the greasy spoon dinners and many buffets. He also loved his knife collections and gaming. Nicholas attended Coughlin High School and was employed by many trucking companies over the years, retiring from trucking while working for Freedom Express.

Nicholas met the love of his life, Beverly, in 1975 at a mutual friend's home. Excited to start their new lives together, the two were married June 28, 1980.

Nicholas and Beverly could not wait to start a family of their own, and their son, Nicholas Michael Vino, born Dec. 13, 1982, meant the world to them.

Though Nicholas loved cars, gaming, fishing, and music, his favorite role was that of a grandparent. He treasured the time with his grandkids and loved being their "Grand Pa Nick," never failing to love them deeply.

Nicholas had a soft spot for his furry friends, treating each and every one like the valuable family member they were.

Nicholas was passionate about his jobs at each turn. He had a work ethic like no other.

Although Nicholas was not an active member of a church at the time, he loved devoting his time and energy to his faith and sharing with as many people as he could.

Everyone who knew Nicholas knew how much he loved gaming. He always had a new adventure to tell you about and a part he wanted you to beat or just see it play out.

Nicholas will always be remembered for his love for others, big heart, and the way that he loved his family. We will always imagine hearing him tell a bad joke one more time. We couldn't have asked for a better father, grandfather, brother, and friend. We will miss Nicholas every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.

Nicholas was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Vino Sr., and brother, Jacque Phillip Vino.

He is survived by his mother, Peggy Vino; sister, Cindy Drozda; wife, Beverly Vino; and son, Nicholas Michael Vino.

A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 20, in Full Gospel Church, 1113 Main St., Avoca, with a celebration of life service to follow.
