Patrick Lyons Obituary

P atrick B. Lyons Jr., 83, of Oak Street, Forty Fort, died Monday at Mercy Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
He was born February 4, 1922, in Wilkes-Barre, a son of the late Patrick and Mary (Cooney) Lyons. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Wilkes-Barre, and Wilkes-Barre School of Business. Mr. Lyons was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed at the Wilkes-Barre Post Office for many years. He formerly resided in the East End section of Wilkes-Barre and was a member of Holy Saviour Church. He also belonged to the American Legion Post 558, Plains. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Kelly Lyons, who passed away October 8, 1998.
Surviving are daughters, Patricia Skurkis, and her husband, Ronald, Glouster, Va.; Kathleen Buckman, and her husband, Michael, Wilkes-Barre; Mary Leskiw, and her husband, Stephen, Plains; Ellen Ercolani, and her husband, Raymond, Forty Fort; sons, Patrick B. Lyons III, and his wife, Sharon, Dallas; Joseph P. Lyons, and his wife, Deborah A., Luzerne; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, James Lyons, Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews
The funeral will be held Thursday at 9 a.m. from E. Blake Collins Funeral Home, 159 George Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with a Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Saviour Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Hanover Township.
Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
