PIKES CREEK — Thomas Charles Colonna, of Pikes Creek, 72, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 19, 2015.
He was born on June 27, 1944, in Wilkes-Barre and was the son of the late Vincent R. Colonna and Lucy Hydinski Colonna. Tom graduated from both Kingston High School and Wilkes-Barre Business College.
He served in the 109th Army Reserve and was married to the late Maureen Casey Colonna.
Tom owned and operated Wyoming Valley Radiator, Plymouth, and later in Kingston, in the early 1970s to the mid 1980s.
In his earlier years, he was an active member of the Lions Club, UNICO and Holy Name of Jesus Church, Swoyersville. Tom enjoyed flea markets and antiques as well as restoring old and used furniture.
He was a caring son, brother, father, grandfather and friend, and will be greatly missed by all those who loved him.
He is survived by his daughter: Elizabeth George and her husband, William, Watsontown; was so very proud of his grandchildren, Elias, Olivia and Emma. Also surviving are his brothers, Vince Colonna and his wife, Rosemary, Londonderry, New Hampshire, Charles Colonna and his wife, Linda, Clarksburg, New Jersey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Lake Silkworth, with the Rev. Richard Fox officiating. Family and friends will be received from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Curtis L. Swanson Funeral Home Inc., corner of routes 29 & 118, Pikes Creek, prior to the mass on Friday. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township.
