WILKES-BARRE — On Wednesday, March 15, 2023, Treveryan Kramer Speicher (nee Williams) passed away at nearly 100 years old after a sudden onset of illness. Trev was born on April 20, 1923, and was raised in Plymouth, Pa. She was a graduate of Plymouth High School and Bucknell University, where she received a B.S. degree in biology in 1945 and ranked at the top of her class. After college, she worked as a researcher in a pharmaceutical company in Philadelphia while her husband attended Temple Dental School.
In 1942, she had eloped with Frank P. Speicher, with whom she raised a family until his death in 1977. In 1983, she married Horace E. Kramer of Wilkes-Barre, with whom she traveled extensively until his passing in 2006.
Over the decades, Trev was involved in various community activities in the Wilkes-Barre area. She was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church and active with the women's group. After Frank died, she worked at the circulation desk of the Wilkes College Library for a few years. At some point, Trev was a volunteer "Pink Lady" at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. At home, Trev was a devoted wife and mother who loved to play the piano and sing.
In addition to her husbands, Trev was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. and Mrs. Elmer T. Williams, and her brothers, Elmer T., Jr., and Richard E. Williams. She is survived by her three children: Dr. Kirk A. Speicher and wife, Marsha, of Tempe, Az.; Ms. Karen D. Speicher of Crofton, Md.; Col. Clark F. Speicher (Ret. USAF) and wife, Merry, of Sherrill, N.Y., with whom Trev had been living for the past five years. She also is survived by her stepdaughter, Anne Kramer Loring and husband, Richard, of Golden, Colo., as well as by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
