Victor J. Williams, 69, of Shavertown, passed away Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Kingston, he was the son of the late Allen Williams and Emanuella Prutzman, a graduate of Dallas High School where he was involved in track and field, a member of Gate of Heaven Church, and resident and mayor of Meadows Nursing Center.
Victor was a vastly talented guitar player and dedicated his life to his craft. He toured and entertained millions, most notably with the Williams Brothers Band, Rudi and the Living Dolls, George Wesley Band, the Gerard Mayer Band Show Band, and others. Having spent much of his childhood at Camp Kresge, he enjoyed the outdoors and had an appreciation for nature, which he shared with his family.
Victor encouraged positivity and optimism and often advised "Don't worry. Be happy."
Victor is survived by his children, Mary Bennett (Joseph), Laura Carr (Eric), Joshua Williams (Erica), and Jason Williams (McCayla), and former wife, Debbie, with whom he spent many years and cherished memories, all of Larksville; grandchildren, Cambria Bennett and Logan Williams; brothers, Allen, Gregory, and Christopher Williams; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, from Richard H. Disque Funeral Home Inc., 2940 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA 18612, with a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Gate of Heaven Church, Dallas. Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. I knew Vic as a youngster when his mother and father lived on Lackawanna Lane in Kingston. After the flood in 1972 my family lived on W. Center St in Shavertown. Vic used to come over to our garage and lift weights with me. He was a wonderful kid. Good memories! RIP Victor!
