My Dear Saraka & Pugh Family Cousins: I was so saddened to learn of Dear Winnie's death today. Please accept my very deepest sympathy and most sincere condolences.
Winnie & I were very close from our earliest childhood days until I left W-B to enter the Navy. Went to Guthrie & Coughlin Schools together from 1st thru 12th grades; played violin & viola together including making All District and All State Orchestra as Violists; confirmed together in Oct 1953 and were active in St. Matthew's Luther League for a number of years.
For those of you who don't know, Winnie's father and my Grandma Chorba (nee Saraka) were sister & brother. My father, John Chorba, was named after John Saraka.
Although our adult lives took us on different paths, we remained in touch over the years reuniting at our 25th Coughlin Class of 1958 reunion and again, after 35 years, in March, 2019 when I had the great pleasure of her company for a few hours with breakfast @ Cracker Barrel then a long visit sitting at her kitchen table reminiscing about so many fun, happy times together.
I loved her dearly and, even tho' the years flew by without seeing each other, somehow, we always had a very special bond.
Am sending very special thoughts, prayers and love to all her loving family & friends.
