Keith Reams Obituary

Keith Perry Reams passed away on April 15, 2025, in San Diego, California. Born on November 23, 1969, in Florida, he lived a life marked by dedication to service, intellectual pursuit, and personal passion.

Keith Reams graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree. He later earned a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the United States Naval War College in 2012. His academic achievements reflected his deep commitment to understanding and contributing to national defense at the highest levels.

With over 26 years of distinguished service in the United States Navy, Keith retired with the rank of Commander. Throughout his career, he served in numerous squadrons as a naval aviator, flying both F-14s and F/A-18s. His assignments took him across the globe and into critical theaters of operation. Notably, he served as Officer in Charge of a Joint Special Operations Command Support unit during Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. For his exemplary leadership and valor during this time, he was awarded the Bronze Star.

In the final chapter of his military career, Commander Reams served as Deputy Director of the Command College at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island. In this role, he helped shape future leaders through strategic education and mentorship.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Keith embraced life with enthusiasm and style. A passionate car enthusiast, he especially enjoyed driving his Aston Martin along the scenic roads of San Diego. He was also an avid tennis player who found joy on the court. Travel was another source of happiness for him-particularly journeys shared with his wife.

May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and honor to those who served alongside him.
