Patricia Macrostie Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann Macrostie, a beloved aunt, sister, and friend. Patricia departed this life peacefully on October 14, 2025, at the age of 84. She is survived by her niece, Tanya Bolender-Ormsby, and preceded in death by her brothers, William Bolender and Jack Bolender.

Patricia was born on May 9, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio. She later moved to Chula Vista, California, where she spent her childhood before ultimately making her home in La Mesa. Her life was one filled with curiosity, quiet adventure, and simple joys. She had a deep love for cooking and baking-her holiday treats, especially her famous cookies and fudge, were treasured by everyone who knew her.

Patricia's career began in office management, including meaningful work supporting a San Diego attorney. Even during retirement, Patricia continued to stay active and engaged with people. She enjoyed working part-time at Costco, cheerfully offering product samples and brightening the days of customers with her welcoming smile.

A gifted gardener, Patricia found great happiness tending to her flowers and vegetables, nurturing life and beauty from the soil. She will be remembered for her generosity, loyal heart, wisdom, and quiet strength. Her kindness touched those around her in countless ways, and her influence will live on in the lives of the many people she loved.

A memorial service will be held at a future date at Glen Abbey Memorial Park in Bonita, California, where she will be Interned with the Bolender family. Family and friends will be invited to honor her memory and celebrate her life.

Patricia's presence will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

My aunt was a significant part of my life from childhood through now. I learned how to swim in her La Mesa pool; she taught me crochet and we spent countless hours comparing cookie recipes. We supported each other through the care of her brother , my Dad, in 2023, and I was there for her through recent health challenges.

She and I were the last of the Bolender family. She will be truly missed.
