EDWARD BARTOSH Obituary

Edward W. Bartosh

Ambridge

Edward W. Bartosh, 77, Ambridge, went to be with his Lord and Savior on July 24, 2020. He was the son of the late Richard F. and Rose Shifkovitz Bartosh.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant sister, Martha Bartosh; siblings, Caroline (Stanley) Baron, Hilda Rose (William) Murga and Richard F. (Ruth Ann) Bartosch and a nephew, Robert Baron.

Surviving are his nieces and nephews, whom he loved since the day they were born and had a momentous impact on their lives with his constant presence, encouraging words, and wisdom, Carol (Tom) Britton, Janet (Tom) Smith, Mary Anne (Scott) Michigan, Stephanie (Rich) Grey, Eric (Clarissa) Bartosh, David Baron, Nancy (Bill) Winschel, Susan (Jerry) Cawley and Caroline (Scott) Baron Myak; great nieces and nephews, Blaise, Emily, Hannah, Anastacia, Mikhayla, Skylar, Nathan, David, Barbara, Christopher, Timothy, Matthew, Marissa, Jessica, Alicia, Caitlin, Kristen, Stephanie, Nicholas and many close colleagues and friends including Ray Morrow and the "Breakfast Club".

Edward attended Saint Veronica School and was a 1960 graduate of Ambridge High School. He earned his undergraduate degree in education from Slippery Rock University and his Master's Degree in counseling from Duquesne University. He began his journey in education as a teacher in the Beaver Falls School District and shortly afterwards was recruited by the Ambridge Area School District where he was a junior and senior high school teacher. He ended his 35-year tenure as Director of Guidance in 1999. He was a member of the PSEA-NEA; PASR; Beaver County Counselor's Association; President of the Beaver County Coordinating Council; a union negotiator/representative and a brother in the Knights of Columbus. He mentored many former students whom later became lifelong friends. He was a lifetime parishioner of Saint Veronica Church/Good Samaritan Parish where his faith, trust, and love for God were inspired and continued to flourish and guide him throughout his life. "Mr. B" enjoyed bicycling and could be seen riding his bike throughout the Ambridge Area. He spent his last two years in the loving care of the Britton home which he affectionately called "The Resort". It is here that he peacefully took his last breath while holding Carol's hand.

Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, August 7, 2020, at 9:30 a.m. at Good Samaritan Parish, Ambridge. Interment will follow at Saint Peter Cemetery, Butler, where he will be buried near his parents.

The family would like to thank Father Joe Carr and the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice, Joyce, Lauren, Silvana, and Sister Janice for their excellent care and compassion.

I am just hearing about this. EWB OR MR B was one of my favorites, even though he found "tobacco residue" in my purse. I recall trying to fix him up with another teacher as well . RIP to one of the good ones!

I will always fondly remember my conversations with Mr. B. We talked about religion, literature, art, film, music, and even food. He was a nice man who led the most interesting life. Ambridge streets will not be the same without him.

My deepest condolences to his loving family and extensive network of friends.

I will fondly remember my conversations with Mr. B during my time at Ambridge High. We discussed religion, literature, movies, music, and even food. Ambridge streets will feel empty without his presence.

My deepest condolences to his loving family and his many friends.
