Mathew Reese Obituary
Chewton - Mathew C. Reese, 41, of Chewton passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 12, 2021 at his residence.
Born July 22, 1979 in Rochester, he was the son of the late James and Karen Statton Reese. He was married to Jami Hamrick Reese for 11 years.
Matt was a manager at the Ellwood City Forge. He enjoyed traveling, especially trips to the beach and Jamaica. He was an avid Steelers fan and loved playing fantasy football. He loved food and his puppies. Matt cherished times spent with his family, particularly with his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Jami and his mother Karen, Matt is survived by two daughters, Allyson (Tyler) Boxen of Wampum and Kacie Hartzell of Ravenna, OH; three grandchildren, Aubrie, Ella, and Nash Boxen; parents in law, Art and Victoria Contois of New Brighton; and two brothers, Jim (Lori) and John Reese.
He was preceded in death by his father James.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday July 14, 2021 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Marshall Funeral Home 341 Main St. Wampum. The funeral service will be held at 8:00 pm on Wednesday at the funeral home with his Pastor Andy Russell officiating.
A celebration of Matt's life will be held on Thursday July 15 from 11 am until 3 pm at the New Galilee Community Hall.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's or the Humane Society.
