I was just going through a box of clippings, cards and other things I have saved over the years and I found a copy of the classified ad that Pat had posted in the Miami Herald when I left to the Gribben, Swann and Glass Law Firm to start my teaching career in 1973. I had saved it as it was rather humorously written. For some reason I decided to put her name in the Google search and found her obituary, which saddens me. I moved to Gainesville in 2007 and I'm sorry to find out that she and Richard were so close as I would love to have seen her. My love to all her family.

First of all, I never called her Patricia. She was always Pat to me. But no matter how she was referred to, all who met her wanted to be her friend and/or colleague. As I am approaching my 80th year, I think back on my attendance at her 80th in 2014. It was attended by a representative but small group of those who had interacted with Pat somewhere along her 80 years and were swept along in her wake of inclusion and acceptance. For me, it was the beginning of my private law practice years where she and I sat for days figuring out how a law firm should operate. As a friend, Counsellor and fellow risk taker, I couldn’t have had a better companion. She went on to excel in the law as her obituary describes. Few people you meet leave behind the kind of impression that Pat did. I am so grateful to have been in her life and to count her as a friend. Love you Pat.
