Sandra Grooms Obituary
formerly of Conway - 84, passed away on April 13, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Leonard R. and Grace Ferguson Altier. Sandy owned and worked for many years at the Conway Hotel, formerly the "Altier Grill", and also was an antique dealer working throughout the Beaver Valley area. She was a former member of Our Lady of Peace Church in Conway, and was an avid bowler. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Levis Grooms, a brother, Leonard Altier, her son, Samuel Leonard Grooms, and cousin, David Celio. Surviving is her dearest cousin, Julie (Jeff) Kreefer and family, East Liverpool, Ohio, sister-in-law, Angela "Angie" Altier and her family, Conway, nephew, Mickey (Mary Ann) Altier and family, Conway, grandchildren, Darcy Grooms, Evan Grooms, and Elijah Sklak, and many great grandchildren. Friends will be received on Friday from 11 AM until the time of Blessing Service at 1 PM, officiated by Father Scott Kopp, in the Poland Funeral Home Inc., 901 First Avenue, Conway, David M. Alvarez supervisor, 724-869-7700. Interment will follow at Beaver Cemetery.

Sandy was a classmate and friend from the class of 1954. Although I hadn't seen her for many years, since I moved out of the area in 19 59, we did reconnect at reunions. I have many fond memories from our school years. My deepest sympathy to her family.

I am the very proud mother of Evan Hargis-Grooms, Sammy's son...Sandy's grandson...being 1 of Jehovah's Witnesses I would like to share these couples scriptures and give loved ones hope and comfort during this time is very difficult for my son he has been through a lot...
I am hoping you all have time in this difficult time to read the scriptures and get comfort from them thank you so much for taking the time...Jehovah, Jesus' father, our heavenly father gave us these scriptures...
Jesus said that “all those in the memorial tombs” will be resurrected. (John 5:28) ...Jehovah has the power to release us from death. And he has promised that “the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.”—1 Corinthians 15:26...and, we can reason on this good news by meditating, reasoning with this-The Bible says that Jehovah knows the name of every single star. (Read Isaiah 40:26.) If he can remember the name of each star, then surely he can easily remember everything about all those he will bring back to life. More important, Jehovah created everything, so we know that he has the power to bring people back to life.
