90, of Strasburg passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 in the Hennis Care Centre at Bolivar. Born Oct. 16, 1924 in Morgan County, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Price) Dawson. In addition to her parents, Clairene was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, Clyde Dickerhoof who died Jan. 9, 2007. She was also preceded by a son, Terry Eberly; twin sons, Clyde and Cloyd; a granddaughter, Tara Lynn Dickerhoof; three brothers, Thomas Jr., Charles and Harold Dawson and two sisters, Mary Katherine Beal, and Margaret McFadden. Clairene enjoyed traveling around the country with her husband on their Honda Goldwing motorcycle. She also enjoyed sewing and quilting and will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed the daily visits from her great granddaughters Allison and Eva.
She will be sadly missed by her family including four sons, Paul (Connie) Dickerhoof and Neal (Michelle) Dickerhoof all of Strasburg; Gene Eberly of New Philadelphia, Ronald (Vickie) Eberly of Dundee and daughter, Kathryn (Ray) Thompson of Malvern; 15 grandchildren, Kimberly, Kyle, Gabi, Tim, Tabatha, Ken, Keith, Amanda, Clarissa, Ray, Lisa, Vince, Chris, Jason and Josh; three sisters, Jane Ross of Strasburg, Grace (Earl) Ross of Arkansas and Esther Norris of Beach City along with 17 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 19, 2015 beginning at 11 a.m. in the Toland-Herzig Funeral Home & Crematory at Dover with Pastor Jeff Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the Ridgecrest Memory Gardens with a reception to follow at "The Roc" in Wilkshire Hills.
