John Katoll Obituary

John David Katoll, 47, of Green died unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008, in Union Hospital at Dover.
The son of Ethel Grace (Muntz) Katoll and the late John H. Katoll Jr., John was born April 10, 1961, at Chicago, Ill.
He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church at New Philadelphia. John was employed as an LPN.
John was an active member of the Masonic Lodge and he served as presiding officer of the York Rite Bodies. He was a recipient of the Knight of the York Cross of Honor as well as the Deputy Division Commander of the 10th Division of the Grand Commandery of Ohio.
He is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Twigg) Katoll; his mother, Ethel Grace Katoll of Sherrodsville; three sisters, Barbara (Tim) Katoll-Koons of Rockford, Ill., Ellen Katoll of Dekalb, Ill., and Suzanne (Pete) Hodges of Ypsilanti, Michigan; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edd Twigg of Green, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday (today), Dec. 2, 2008, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia with the New Philadelphia Lodge No. 177 F. & A.M. holding services at 7 p.m. Rosary services will then take place at 7:45 p.m. A funeral service celebrating John's life will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. in Emmanuel Lutheran Church at New Philadelphia with Pastor Steve Patrick officiating. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Burial will take place at 2:30 p.m. in Holy Cross Cemetery at Akron.

I knew big John back in the late 1980's. I was shocked to see he had past. He was a good friend and took care of my own dad in the nursing home in Dover in the late '90's. He will be Missed .

I just heard about John. I worked at the Canton IAC Plant where John was the nurse. He was a very cheerful and full of life person. So terribly sorry for your loss. May God Bless your family at this time.
