R. Sherrell Obituary
Age 68, of Dennison, Ohio, passed away on May 13, 2019, following a lengthy illness. Born December 3, 1950 in Dennison, Ohio, Steve is the son of the late Roosevelt and Marjory (Barnett) Sherrell. In 1968, Steve graduated from Claymont High School and served in the United States Army.
He was employed at Alsco in Gnadenhutten in the maintenance department for 20 years and later at Howden Buffalo until his retirement in 2013. Steve was a member of the St. Johns Worship and Praise Church in Uhrichsville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, Ohio State and Cleveland sports teams and he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Steve is survived by his companion, Melody Smith of Uhrichsville; a son, Steve Alan Sherrell of Massillon; siblings, Monte (Kim Ernest) Sherrell of Bolivar and Mitchell Sherrell of Akron; grandchildren, Nycia Deerfoot, Torie Hunter and Xavier Sherrell and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by a son, Nick Hunter.
Funeral services for Steve will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the Uhrich-Hostettler English Funeral Home, Inc. at Uhrichsville, with Daryl Barnett officiating. Calling hours will be from 4 to 9 p.m., on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas County, 716 Commercial Ave. SW, New Philadelphia, OH 44663 and St. Johns Worship and Praise Church, 1030 Cook Street, Uhrichsville, OH 44683.
