Wanda E. Yoder
52 died July 31, 2014 in Ketchikan, Alaska. She was born April 14, 1962, in Meadville, Pa. She graduated from Hiland High School in 1980 and from the Aultman Hospital School of Nursing in 1984. She resided in Ohio for five years and then began her career as a Traveling Nurse. She then resided in: Wyoming, New Mexico, Connecticut, Texas, Florida, Kentucky, West Virginia, Hawaii and Alaska. She has been employed as a Critical Care Nurse in Alaska the last 15 years beginning in Sitka and currently in Ketchikan. Recently she was House Supervisor for the hospital in Ketchikan. In 2012 Wanda received the Guardian Angel Award.
Wanda enjoyed traveling, scrapbooking, collecting Native Alaskan Art and spending time with her many dear friends and family. One of Wanda's favorite quotes from Helen Keller: Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all. Here is to daring adventure!
Wanda was preceded in death by her beloved father, Raymond D. Yoder. She is survived by her mother, Elsie Mae Yoder; sister, Crystal {Dennis) Scheufler; nephew, Derek Scheufler; niece, Danielle {Jeremiah) Weaver; great nephew, Gavin Weaver; her many dear Alaskan friends. Wanda was loved by many and will be deeply missed!
A memorial service will be held at 3p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2014 at Zion Church in Winesburg. A meal and fellowship will follow in the church's fellowship hall {directly across from firehouse).
