Robert Peters Obituary

Robert "Bud" Peters, 81, of Watseka, died at 4:17 p.m. Friday, June 18, 2010, at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee.
He was born January 29, 1929, in Watseka, the son of Ernest and Pearl Cahoe Peters.
He married Bonnie Hemp in Philo on June 9, 1962. She preceded him in death on Aug. 18, 1991. He later married Sandra Kuhlman Elliott in Watseka on Oct. 10, 1992. She survives in Watseka.
Mr. Peters served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After retiring from farming, he was employed by the Secretary of State Driver License Bureau for several years and later was employed by the City of Watseka for 13 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Watseka, the Watseka Elks Lodge, the Watseka American Legion and the V.F.W. He was an avid pilot who enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and farming. Bud was loved by his family and friends and will be dearly missed.
He is survived by four daughters: Bobbi Peters and fiance Scott Laten of Scottsdale, AZ, Sally and John Emmert of Bloomington, Tammy Bohlman and fiance Curtis Hubert of Watseka, Vicki and Kurt Olson of Pataskala, OH; one son, Eric and Stacey Elliott of Johnson City, TN; 10 grandchildren, Alexandra Matossian, Kelsey Emmert, Haley Emmert, Cassie Elliott, Paige Elliott, Vanessa Elliott, Samantha Daniels, Cody Daniels, Madeline Olson and Michael Olson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Segur-Knapp Funeral Home in Watseka.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Copeland officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Watseka with graveside military rites by Watseka American Legion Post #23 and Iroquois County VFW Post #7450.
Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
