Mrs. Esther Hladysz 1926 - 2017
HERKIMER - Mrs. Esther Hladysz, 91, of 4072 St. Rt. 28, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017, in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Little Falls on June 17, 1926, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Potonick Koncan, and she attended Little Falls schools. She was married to Charles Hladysz on October 6, 1946, in S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church. Charles passed away on October 21, 1991. Esther was a Polisher for Melrose Shoe, Little Falls, for several years. She was a member of S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church.
Esther is survived by one son, Ronald Hladysz, of Ilion; one daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Theodore Foss, of Geneva; four grandchildren, Christina and her husband, Brian Ryan, Colleen and her husband, John Tharp, Lynn Osaki, and Richard Hladysz and his companion, Stephanie; four great-grandchildren, Lily Sueko Osaki, Zachary Tharp, Bradley Tharp and Colten; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Hladysz; her grandson-in-law, Ken Osaki; and her brother, Frank Koncan, Jr.
Her funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 from the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home, 329 S. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 2:00 in S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, with Rev. Thaddeus Franta officiating. Interment will be in S.S. Peter and Paul Orthodox Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 11:30 until the time of the service at the Petykiewicz, Iocovozzi & Burns Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Esther's memory may be made to S.S. Peter & Paul Orthodox Church Memorial Fund, 305 Main Rd., Herkimer, NY 13350. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
