ILION - Everett Gallogly, 76, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at home with his loving family by his side.
He was born on January 17, 1942 in Upper Glades, WV, the son of the late Elza and Florence Moffatt Gallogly and was a graduate of Mohawk High School. Everett was a US Air Force Veteran and on September 5, 1987 he was united in marriage with Janet Hallows Lockwood in Ilion NY.
Everett was employed as a custom gunsmith with Remington Arms for over thirty years prior to his retirement.
Everett is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons and a daughter, Chad and Melissa, of Garner NC, Everett, Jr., of FL, Cathleen and Timothy Marquissee, of Mohawk, NY; his stepson and spouse, Mark and Dawn Lockwood, of Bloomfield, NY; a half-brother to his children and his spouse, Richard and Michelle Rinaldi, of Mohawk, NY; his grandchildren, Nicholas and wife, Dezaire, Noah and Noelle Gallogly, Cody, Jared and Kerissa Marquissee, Hilary and Evan Williams, Hannah and Mark Lamson; great-grandchild, Vivien Marquissee; and step-great-grandchildren, Ellie and Sadie Lamson. He is also survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Carol Gallogly, of Ilion and Howard and Dora Gallogly, of Herkimer, NY; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Laura and David Horton, of Honeoye, NY and Patricia Ellis, of Hartwick, NY. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews whom he loved very much. He was predeceased by his stepson, Tracy Lockwood; two sisters, Opal Gallogly-Brado and Susanne Gallogly-Bagley; and a brother, Alden Gallogly (surviving spouse, Edith).
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 4:00 PM from the Whiter-Hendrix Funeral Home, Inc., 100 Otsego St., Ilion, with Rev. Marvin Isum, officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in the Litchfield Cemetery.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Desai, Dr. Lawrence and their staff, along with Hospice and Palliative Care, for their care and compassion; also special thanks to Jan Elliott.
