ILION - Mr. Gerald R. "Jerry" Boucher, age 64, passed away peacefully on Wednesday evening, July 20, 2016, in the privacy and comfort of his home, with his loving family at his bedside.
Born on August 22, 1951, Jerry was the son of the late Irwin and Mary (Lyon) Boucher. He was raised and educated in Herkimer and graduated from Herkimer High School. On September 29, 1973, he was married to the former Carol S. Branck, and the two shared in a devoted union of over 42 years.
Jerry was employed with P&C Foods in Herkimer for many years and, after his retirement, he worked part-time for Meals on Wheels. He will be remembered as a good man who put his family first and had a lasting impact on all he met.
Survivors include Jerry's beloved wife, Carol; his daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Andy Zieno, and Connie and Bob Yardley; his son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Trisha Boucher; his adored grandchildren, Jared, Julia, Rachael, Carsen and Brice; his brother, Dennis Boucher; his sister, Shirley Jaquays; his sister-in-law, Joan Bennett; his special mother-in-law, Gloria Branck; and many cherished cousins. Jerry was predeceased by his brother, Jimmy Bennett, and his sister, Beverly Boucher.
In keeping with Jerry's wishes, there will be no formal services at this time, and his loved ones will honor his life in a private memorial gathering. The Boucher family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude for all the support shown by their family and friends throughout Jerry's illness.
