LITTLE FALLS - Henry J. Petrie, 86, of Little Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2021, at Valley Health Services, Herkimer.
Born on July 25, 1935, in Little Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Henry Petrie and Josephine Wren Petrie. He was a graduate of St. Mary's Academy Class of 1953 and was a life long resident of Little Falls. Henry operated the family Dairy Farm until 1990. He then went to work for Valley Health Services, Herkimer. It was a job he took great pride in. Mr. Petrie was a communicant of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. He was a former member of the Nowadaga Grange.
Henry was an animal lover, especially fond of his cats. He was a loving father and grandfather. Henry had a sweet tooth and was known to have a bag of Werther's Originals always at his side. He was married to the former Barbara De Nitto. He was predeceased by his parents; brother; David; and infant; son.
Henry is survived by his daughter, Jennifer (Chad) Polnak, of Little Falls, NY; son, Joseph (Elizabeth) Petrie, of Niagara Falls, NY; stepdaughter, Kim (Eric) Olbrich, of Midlothian, VA; granddaughters, Samantha (Michael) Frohm, of Massena, NY and Winter Polnak, of Ravena, NY; sister-in-law, Joyce Petrie, of Little Falls, NY; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at The Chapel of Chapman-Moser Funeral Home, 42 N. Ann Street, Little Falls, NY 13365. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 11,2021 at 9:00 a.m. at The Holy Family Parish, Little Falls, NY. Burial will follow the funeral service at Rural Park Cemetery.
