Agnes Vaughn Obituary

LATHAM Sister Agnes Bernadette Vaughn, CSJ, the former Mary F. Vaughn, died on April 1, 2004 at St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham, N.Y. Sister was born in Cohoes, N.Y., the daughter of the late John and Dellia Byrne Vaughn. She was in the 69th year of her life as sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Sister Agnes was a graduate of Keveny Academy, Cohoes and received a bachelor's degree in education from the College of Saint Rose, Albany. Sister taught in schools of the Albany and Syracuse Dioceses, including St. Jude's, Wynantskill, St. Agnes, Utica and St. Mary's Oswego. Upon retirement to St. Joseph's Provincial, Sister served as secretary in several offices of the province and enjoyed visiting residents of Our Lady of Hope Residence. Sister is survived by several cousins. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, April 6 at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady Queen of Virgins Chapel at St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham. Relatives and friends may call at the Chapel of the Provincial House on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. Evening prayer will be at 7 p.m. Interment will take place in Our Lady Queen of Virgins Cemetery, Latham. Contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Joseph Development Office, 385 Watervliet-Shaker Road, Latham, NY 12110.
